With fervent enthusiasm and an utter pleasure, I am writing to any real estate buyer, and especially any seller, to recommend Mark Millstein as your real estate agent/broker.

While looking at homes and estates for sale in Marin County, I began to see and read Mark’s very professional and informative Market Report.  After my dad died recently, my sister and I had to sell his house.  We began to interview a number of real estate agents that could competently and professionally sell a house worth over $2 million in a reasonable amount of time.  I was not altogether impressed with who we interviewed until we invited Mark to come talk to us and let us how he would help us sell the house.  To say the least he made quite a first impression.

Mark came prepared with his directed real estate market analysis, buyer analysis, demographic analysis, and area and school analysis.  He made a very professional assessment, exhibiting experience and knowledge, on what our house could sell for, would sell for and who was likely to buy it – our market target.  It was an easy choice.  I knew I was going to choose Mark as our agent before he left the house that day.

What I did not know, and what was a wonderful surprise, was his more than added value as a competent and professional real estate agent/broker and a partner.  My dad’s house was older and needed a lot of sprucing up and repair before we sold it.  Mark made his well measured assessment and recommended to us what exactly had to be done in order to make the house sale ready and desirable.  More importantly, and what I had not experienced before (after buying and selling a good number of my own homes), was Mark’s hands on, roll up your sleeves, physical involvement in helping us work on and prepare the house for sale.  He made superb recommendations as to what we should do in relation to paint, flooring, lighting, appliances, landscaping, etc.  He incorporated many of his professional contacts and tradesmen in helping to prepare the house (wow, what a help they were).  In a word, Mark was and is impressive.

After a good deal of work, with Mark’s help, we were able to sell my dad’s house in a very short 23 days after listing (in a market that is slowing down).  Mark himself held the house open every weekend during the time it was for sale.  While at the open house, Mark informed prospective buyers and their agents about the house, its history, the value of the property and area, the school districts and anything else that would help them make an informed purchasing decision.  He kept us informed during the period we worked with him.  Once sold, our escrow period could not have gone smoother.

Mark knows his business as well as anybody knows any business.  He is to be trusted – he easily earns it.  He is calm and contemplative in thought.  He listens and offers advice as well as ideas and solutions to problems.  He has a contented confidence that puts people at ease

When we called Mark, he took time out of his busy schedule that very day to give us a tour of Ross, Kentfield, and Tiburon. We returned to Singapore but emailed him often with questions about new listings. He replied promptly with details and photos, and even went to see properties on our behalf. Distance did not deter Mark from working with us — he was fully committed to helping us find that perfect home.

Once we found the property, Mark’s expertise became ever more clear. He helped us get the best possible terms and price, and made sure that negotiations went quickly and smoothly.  He coordinated all inspections, and was incredibly thorough in his follow-through. For clarifications on the inspection, he went to the source – the inspectors and tradespeople who’d done past repairs. I recently used Mark to represent me in my search for a new home in southern Marin County. I could not be more pleased. He listened to my needs regarding price, size, location and price. He asked a lot of probing questions so that he truly understood what it was I was looking for. He then went to work.

Mark was my broker for the 2018 sale of my primary residence in Tiburon. Based on the tremendous job he did, I would have no hesitation recommending him.

Not only was he highly professional and knowledgeable, his communication was great and went he out of his way to provide guidance to maximize the value of my property and achieve an optimal sale.

My house had largely been remodeled during the two year prior to sale but the lower floor (4 bedrooms, two bathrooms and several other rooms) needed upgrading. I was very fortunate to have been able to work with Mark on the sale of my home and have nothing but the highest praise for him. Mark went over and above what I would typically expect from a real estate broker and I’ve had a lot of experience, having bought and sold eleven properties over many years.

He prepared a detailed list of recommended improvements with line item estimates for each. Once we had an agreed scope, he set about hiring the needed contractors. He acted on my behalf, meeting these people and making himself available to move the project forward. His hands on approach included choosing new wood flooring, paint colors, light fixtures, appliances, and stacking utilities to better utilize and improve kitchen space. He made numerous trips to suppliers to obtain just the right finish materials.  Seeing the home about a week before it went on the market and just before the staging occurred – what a major difference!
